After picking up some brazing skills I decided to have a go at making a bike frame. By using lugged construction and some rudimentary 3D printed fixtures I was able to put it all together. I enjoyed the experiential learning and in the process learned a lot about frame geometry.
My first lathe project. I made turned these cones to slide along a piece of shaft. With a set screw tightened down, it will hold a tube in place as a welding jig.
2 chairs. Studies of the Ply-Chair by Jasper Morrison for Vitra (1990). CNC milled birch ply, Solidworks, HSMWorks. This was done while working at Inside Weather and is an example of the kind of joinery and manufacturing problems I was working on at the time.
